We strongly recommend that families purchase the St. Andrew’s Tablet Bundle from GovConnection which includes:
• Case
• Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student
• 4 year accidental damage warranty – covers dropped tablets and other accidental damage (does NOT cover loss or theft)
Additionally, families who purchase the St. Andrew’s Bundle will benefit from:
• School will provide Antivirus program and keep it up-to-date
• School will perform all warranty work
• School provides loaner while repair work is taking place
• Seamless integration with school network
• Automated backup of school related files
If a laptop is purchased which is NOT part of the St. Andrew’s bundle, please be aware that the following limitations may apply as well as others not listed here:
• School cannot perform or assist with any warranty work
• School cannot provide a loaner
• Laptop must be able to do all school related activities (include hand writing input if required)
• Student must provide antivirus – it will not be connected to the wireless network without a fully functioning and up-to-date antivirus program running
• Student must provide MS Office
• No backup of files
• Limited printers available on campus
• School cannot assist with any Operating System other than Microsoft Windows
• Any software required for class will be provided that will work on a Windows laptop – student will have to purchase a copy of the software for non-windows machines
• Laptop must support VGA out for connection to projectors – Apple products require the purchase of an adapter by the student
Recommended minimum technical specifications for a laptop:
- DVD reader / CD burner
- 802.11 b/g wireless
- 2 GB RAM
For connection to the St. Andrew's domain (automatic file back-up and other network functions):
- Windows XP Professional or Vista Business
