Central Mississippi Chinese Culture and Language School
Date: 3/13/2010
Time:
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
The Central Mississippi Chinese Cultural School (CMCCS) Initiative is coordinated by the Global Studies Department, Ms. Grace Pei's Mandarin classes, and the Lower School. The primary purpose of this monthly community activity is to provide the space and additional opportunities for families and their adopted Chinese children in the Jackson area to meet once per month from September through May so they can cultivate continued growth in and connectedness to their native Chinese heritage. Each of the Saturday playdates will showcase cultural movement activities, including dancing and singing, as well as traditional Chinese children's liturature that can be dramatized. Additionally, Ms Pei's Mandarin students will lead the children in Chinese language and culture learning activities that include creating puppet shows, dancing and singing songs, counting numbers, drawing, painting, cooking, and creating folded art. This year, a parent enrichment component will be added to the Saturday Play Date activities.
