SAINTS SUMMER EXPERIENCE 2017
Each summer, we commit to providing every camper the best and safest day camp experience possible. From our programming to our policies, everything is planned and designed with the student in mind.
Camp policies and procedures are outlined below.
Parents are strongly encouraged to register their camper(s) well in advance so that we have the best staff-to-camper ratio, but we understand that for unforeseen reasons you may need to register at the last minute. If you find yourself in this situation, you can enroll online until 8:00 a.m. (or in person until 9:30 a.m.) on the first day of any camp session with space remaining. If you show up in person, please bring payment with you. There is a $25 same-day registration fee for camp and a $25 same-day registration fee for ACC if you register the day that camp starts.
If you wish to cancel or modify your registration or apply for a credit toward another week of camp, please email or call Jay: 601-487-2748.
The following policies and timeline apply:
Notification 30 or more days before the start of your session = 100% refund, minus the $50 deposit, or a full credit toward another camp session.
Notification 15 - 29 days before the start of your session = 50% refund, minus the $50 deposit, or a full credit toward another camp session.
Notification 14 or fewer days before the start of your session = no refund. We will be glad to give you a full credit toward another camp session.
Once a session begins, adjustments cannot be made. Credits cannot be issued.
Contact Jay for more information: 601-487-2748 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
All campers must complete the necessary camp forms in order to participate in the Saints Summer Experience. These forms can be submitted electronically via the Parent Dashboard on Campsite. Downloadable PDF's can be found at the FORMS link on this page.
Please notify the camp office by phone (601-487-2748) or email if a child is ill, especially if the illness is communicable. We internally track instances of communicable diseases at camp, and when appropriate will notify the parents of all children that may have been exposed, while respecting the confidentiality of campers and families involved.
To return to camp after an illness, your child must have gone 24 hours without fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
There is no nurse on duty at the school over the summer.
Campers who have communicable diseases will be sent home and may not return to camp until the illness has been treated successfully and the camper is symptom free. We require 24 hours with no fever, vomiting and/or diarrhea before returning to camp. Please do not send your child to camp with any sort of fever or if they have been vomiting or have had diarrhea.
Campers who have signs of head lice (itching, head irritation, etc.) will be removed from their group and escorted to the camp office. If we believe there is a possibility of head lice, we will ask the family to pick their camper up from camp immediately. In order to return to camp, a camper must have had all active lice removed from their hair and must no longer show any signs of infestation, itching or irritation.
We welcome half day campers in our Kinder and Adventure Camps! Morning half day is 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Afternoon half day is 12:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Morning half day kids need to be picked up before lunch - no later than 11:30 a.m. - so they don't get mixed up in lunchtime. Afternoon half day kids who have already eaten lunch can arrive any time after 12:00 p.m.
Our camp staff uses positive techniques of guidance, including logical and natural consequences applied in problem situations, redirection of children to more acceptable behavior, anticipation of and elimination of potential problems and encouragement of appropriate behavior rather than comparison, competition or criticism.
Consistent and clear rules are established at the beginning of each camp session. Campers are encouraged to solve problems and to respect each other’s feelings. Campers are always expected to be kind.
Counselors model pro-social behavior such as cooperation, helping, taking turns and constructive verbal communication to solve problems. Our ultimate goal is to help all campers internalize rules and become self-directed in their behavior.
We reserve the right to dismiss a child for recurring behavior that makes it difficult or impossible for the staff to meet the camper's needs and/or the needs of other campers. This will occur without a refund (or portion thereof) or credit towards a future program.
To keep everyone safe and secure, there will always be three or more people in one place at the same time.
All campers attending camp are expected to be fully potty-trained by their first day of camp. We ask that families provide an extra set of clothes with campers, if a camper has a history of bathroom accidents. If an accident occurs during camp hours, the Staff and Camp Safety Specialist will notify the camper’s primary parent/guardian. We will not change or assist with bathroom accident clothing changes or cleanups. Two accidents in the same week will constitute grounds for dismissal with no refund or credit.
It is our policy to do everything possible to protect our campers from excessive exposure to the sun and insects, while still allowing them to get the most out of our outdoor games and activities. St. Andrew's is diligent in their mosquito control efforts on campus during the summer months.
Parents/guardians are required to provide SPRAY sunscreen (and SPRAY insect repellent, if desired) for use during the camp day. Sunscreen and insect repellent sent to camp should be placed in a sealed plastic bag and labeled with the child’s first and last name. Camp staff can only assist campers with SPRAY products.
Parents/guardians are responsible for applying sunscreen (and insect repellent, if desired) 20 – 30 minutes prior to morning drop-off. During the camp day, campers will be prompted, when necessary, to reapply sunscreen (and insect repellent, if desired). Camp staff will assist with spray product when necessary. If camp staff notices sunburn or excessive insect bites, the camper will be removed from outside activities and their parent/guardian will be contacted. If parents/guardians have more than one camper attending camp, we ask that each camper have their own supply of sunscreen so that it is readily accessible throughout the camp day.
The Saints Summer Experience strives to provide a program free from video games, cell phones, audio players, toys, trading cards and other distractions. Please do not permit your child to bring any of these items to camp as they will be busy throughout the camp day and these items also tend to get lost or misplaced when brought to camp. If your child brings any electronic devices, toys, trading cards/items, etc to camp, staff will store the items until the end of the day. We are not liable if any of these items go missing. Please leave it all at home.
