  • Jay Philpott

    Jay Philpott is St. Andrew’s Director of Admission and Financial Aid. He has over 20 years of experience in advancement, admission, alumni, and communications. Most recently, he served as Director of Advancement and Director of Admissions at St. George’s Independent School in TN. Previously, he worked in advancement for Rhodes College, the University of Memphis, Sweet Briar College, and Presbyterian College. Jay is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a past board member for the Southeast Region of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). He received his Bachelor of Arts in history from Presbyterian College and his Master of Science in leadership with a higher education concentration from the University of Memphis. Jay grew up in Kentucky, attended high school in New York, and is now a proud resident of Ridgeland, Mississippi. Jay’s wife, Emily, is the Associate Director of Global Studies and she also teaches AP Psychology and AP World History for St. Andrew’s. Jay and Emily have children who are members of the St. Andrew’s Class of 2026 and 2028. Jay’s favorite St. Andrew’s traditions/programs are Kindergarten Crossing Ceremony, hosting exchange students, and the school’s new sailing and robotics programs.
  • Jennifer Sheppard

    Jennifer Sheppard is Associate Director of Admission. A graduate of Dartmouth College, she spent one year working for a nonprofit in Washington, D.C. before moving across the country to Pebble Beach, California to become associate director of admission at Stevenson School. This initial role began a now 24-year career as a professional in independent school admission and financial aid spanning two coasts, five schools, and student grade levels from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Aside from running admission and financial aid programs at various schools, Jennifer has also served as a resident faculty member and student advisor. She helped to develop the SSAT Common Application for the primary grades and has served as a mentor to those just entering the admission profession. She believes deeply in the accessibility of independent schools to families of diverse backgrounds as well as the impact of such work on individual students. Most recently, Jennifer served as Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart – an all-boys, K-8 independent school – until the family relocation to Mississippi. Jennifer's husband, Tom, is St. Andrew's Head of School and together they have two children.
     
  • Jessi Crawford

    Jessi Crawford is an Assistant Director of Admission. She was born in North Carolina, grew up in Florida, and then moved to Tennessee with her family. After attending the University of Memphis as a business major, she moved to Aspen, Colorado with her husband. She worked in the development office at the Aspen Music Festival and School and served as a program coordinator for nonprofits and churches in the Aspen community for many years.  She also enjoyed the journey as a homeschooling parent before moving to Mississippi to be closer to extended family. She first joined the St. Andrew's Episcopal School community in 2016 as a parent to Jack (Class of 2023). Prior to joining the admission team, she had the opportunity to work with our Middle and Upper School students as an academic coach. Her husband, Scott, serves as the Controller for the business office and is the assistant coach for the St. Andrew’s soccer team. Jessi and her family live in Madison and enjoy cheering for the Saints at events throughout the year.
  • Crissie Walker

    Crissie Walker is a St. Andrew’s Assistant Director of Admissions and has previously served as the Lower School Administrative Assistant. Most of Crissie’s experience at St. Andrew’s comes from serving as a volunteer in various St. Andrew’s Parents’ Association (SAPA) roles. It was by serving as a parent volunteer at Arts on the Green that Crissie developed a personal connection to St. Andrew’s. Before working at St. Andrew’s, Crissie served on staff for Bible Study Fellowship, Jackson. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Mississippi University for Women and has extensive accounting experience. Crissie is a member of First Baptist Church Jackson where she teaches a 4th grade Sunday School class. Crissie is married to Tom and their sons, Friend (Class of 2024) and John William (Class of 2026) attend St. Andrew’s. After school hours, you’ll likely find Crissie attending a St. Andrew’s sporting event. Being from the small town of Lake, MS, Crissie enjoys the close-knit St. Andrew’s community.
