Bishop Duncan M. Gray, Jr., believed in the important work being done at the school. He served as a Regent of the Corporation, was the parent of a graduate, and in the months prior to his death, he graciously agreed to serve as the Honorary Chair for a $2.5 million campaign to build an Episcopal chapel at St. Andrew's.
When we lost Bishop Gray in the summer of 2016, the Episcopal Church lost a man of extraordinary integrity who lived his life based on the gospel, Bishop Gray exhibited strength in the face of adversity. He was courageous in believing all people should be treated with respect, compassion, and love.
With the blessing of Bishop Gray's family and support of The Rt. Rev. Brian R. Seage, it is right and fitting to build this new chapel in memory of the Rt. Rev. Duncan M. Gray, Jr., a beacon of light and hope in Mississippi. His life and this chapel will forever inspire St. Andrew’s students to go forth and shine their lights in the world.
