Bluntson Memorial

When 33-year-old Craig Bluntson ‘85 suffered a fatal heart attack in 2000, he left behind a legacy of humble service to others and a community devastated by his loss.
Craig’s family decided that though Craig was gone, his generous spirit should live on. The Bluntson family created the Craig D. Bluntson Memorial Scholarship in Craig’s memory. The scholarship benefits a St. Andrew’s fourth grader who exhibits gracious humility while being a good citizen, strong student, and a behind-the-scenes helper and doer. The Bluntson Scholarship winner is a “quiet leader” who reflects the same qualities that made Craig Bluntson a beloved son, husband, father, and friend.

When she was a senior at St. Andrew's, Allie Puneky '14, the first recipient of the scholarship, reflected, "Receiving the Bluntson Award as a fourth grader encouraged me to be the kind of person who steps up to the plate and takes the lead when no one else does.” For the Bluntson family, seeing St. Andrew’s students benefit from the gift they created in Craig’s memory has been a blessing.
