Global Studies

The Guillot Global Fellows Program and Global Studies Student Travel Grants

As an integral facet to the St. Andrew’s mission, student travel is highly encouraged. In order to make travel more accessible to students, Global studies offers a travel grant of up to $2,000.00 per trip which helps cover travel expenses, housing, and all program costs. Students need not only apply for St. Andrew’s Global Studies trips, but may also apply for trips through accredited travel institutions.

The selection committee will give preference based on the following criteria:
  • Students applying for trips with service learning components
  • Students with demonstrated financial needs
  • Students who have hosted international students in the past
  • Students who are entering their sophomore or junior years and have not yet received a grant
  • Students with excellent academic standing and no honor code violations or suspensions in the previous 12 months
  • Students who wish to develop and apply world language skills

Faculty Travel Grants

St. Andrew’s Global Studies offers travel grants to faculty each year.  These grants can be used for professional development, community service opportunities, improving world language skills, accompanying school sponsored trips, among many other curricular and co-curricular programming.

All applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of faculty and administration from each division. The heads of all divisions will also approve travel grants.  Faculty can apply for grants up to $3,000.00 per trip. All receipts for covered costs will need to be turned in at the end of the trip. Additionally, all recipients of travel grants are expected to present at a Travel Thursday lunch meeting.

The selection committee will give preference based on the following criteria:
  • Faculty who have not received this grant in the past
  • Faculty who have a longer tenure at St. Andrew’s
  • Faculty who have a plan on how to share information and experiences with both students and other faculty members
