St. Andrew's Driver Education
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School offers Driver Education classes starting May 30, 2017.
Registration begins February 22, 2017. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. When all slots are full, registration will be closed. Only those who pay in advance will be guaranteed a slot in the class.
The fee for classroom and driving instruction is $425.00. Total payment is due in full by May 30, 2017. To register for Driver Education please complete the form below to register and pay by credit card. For other payment arrangements please contact the instructor.
This is new for 2017 – All students must have completed the 9th grade to be eligible for Driver Education.
All classroom time will be held on St. Andrew’s North Campus in Ridgeland in the lecture hall of the McRae Science Center. Students must be present for all classroom meetings.
Class meet on weekdays at the following times:
May 30 to June 2 – 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.
June 5 to 16 – 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Most groups will begin driving on June 5.
Students must bring the following materials to class each day:
Pen or pencil
Driver Education manual, each student will receive one copy
Lunch and drink
No cell phones are allowed to be turned on in the classroom. The first offense results in a warning; at the second offense the phone taken away for the day; at the third offense the student is removed from the program with no refund for the course.
All students must be available to drive during the month of June.
Driving sessions will be assigned to students by June 1. Driving sessions take place from June 5 to July 7. There are no sessions on July 4. There will be a second driving class during July, but only for 20 students. All students must complete their classroom instruction in June.
There is a fee of $40.00 per unexcused classroom absence and a fee of $50.00 for an unexcused driving session absence.
