St. Andrew's Faculty Chosen to Participate on Hybrid Learning Panel

On Thursday, October 29, St. Andrew's faculty members Linda Rodriguez, director of virtual learning, Karyn Kunzelman, 8th grade science teacher, and Ruthie Taylor, chair of the arts department, volunteered to share with other leading independent school faculty on a Hybrid Learning Teaching Panel hosted by Castilleja School. Castilleja hosted the panel because they are switching from virtual to hybrid learning and teachers are concerned and questioning the benefits of teaching hybrid. Our talented faculty shared their teaching styles, how they adapted to a hybrid classroom, and the strategies they implemented to keep learning seamless and engaging for both in-person students as well as those learning at home. "Wifi can be problematic even in a classroom," shared Rodriguez. "Sometimes infrastructure doesn't keep up with the demand placed on it, and the kids at home can feel left out. It's important for teachers to create syllabi that are detailed enough that if a student can't connect, they can still follow along with the flow of the class." Thank you to these faculty members for sharing all that our community has been learning this year and for representing our school well!
