The arts play an essential role in the St. Andrew's curriculum. At every grade level, our students experience the delights and challenges of expressing their most imaginative selves.
In Early Childhood, students learn to look at, talk about, and creatively experiment with visual art-making. They also develop a lifelong love of music through singing, creative movement, and performance. In Lower School, students gain skills and confidence as they practice supportively sharing and thoughtfully critiquing each other's work as we integrate theater and musical performance into the arts program.
Middle School students find additional opportunities to collaborate, innovate, and connect through chorus, band, and speech and debate, gaining inspiration and context through art history. To this wide array of offerings, Upper School adds a state-of-the-art graphic design program, which provides extensive experience in media production and publication.
Rooted in sophisticated techniques, multiple perspectives, and our unflagging encouragement, St. Andrew's young artists are ready to address complex problems from new angles, a skill that serves them in all their endeavors. And whether or not they pursue an arts career, they will always know how to find and create a little more beauty in our world.
