Saints Take Gold in State Chess Tourney
The St. Andrew's team took 1st place and Joe Han won 1st place individual!
On Saturday March 24, 2018 the St. Andrew's Chess Club traveled to Mississippi State to compete in the 2018 Mississippi Scholastic Chess Team Championship. This is the Mississippi Scholastic Chess Association's largest annual scholastic chess tournament in the state. After 5 rounds lasting from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the St. Andrew's team took 1st place and Joe Han won 1st place individual! The team consisted of Ghaith Aleithawe, Saatvik Agrawal, Satwik Pani, Jason Wang, Joe Han, Nate Venarske, and Allen Ryu. Go Saints!
