It’s official! The inaugural schoolwide rules for the lower school have been ratified. The rules stemmed from a collaborative effort from all of the lower school students, all of whom was represented by a classroom delegate to voice their opinions. From a list of 19 rules, the delegates were able to decide on four essential schoolwide rules that have now been enacted. Engaging the students in this process helped them take ownership in the rules and gave them a voice to articulate the social and ethical behaviors that enable everyone to learn. Photos from the process and the ratification chapel are here. "It was wonderful to end last week with Big Chapel and the rules ratification ceremony," says Head of Lower School Dawn Wilson. "It was a great way to celebrate the students’ collaborative efforts."
