2 Selected for National OAKE Honor Choir
Two of our choir students recently participated in the National Organization of American Kodaly Educators national women’s honor choir. Julia Kennedy and Mirren Viola were selected by audition to be members of this choir. Students from 35 states were selected by audition to participate in this event. The choir members rehearsed for three days and then performed in a concert with a internationally renowned conductor from Hungary. This was a high honor for Julia and Mirren – they were the only students from Mississippi out of 450 students and 4 honor choirs.
