Middle School Robotics Takes First Place

Over the weekend the Middle School Lego League team competed at the Laurel Loblolly Qualifier at Northeast Jones High School in Laurel. The team was judged on their teamwork and core values, their robot design and engineering process, and their innovative project idea—an app to raise money to fix potholes, with a working prototype designed by 7th grader Jack Adams.

They competed in the Robot Game—a field full of missions for their robot to accomplish—where they took 1st place and also won the "Champions' Award," which is essentially first place for the entire qualifier. The team will now move on to the championship event on February 15.

Team members pictured are 5th graders Aditi Pabbidi, Sohan Reddy, Senyo Dzathor, and Levi Coffey; 6th graders Andrew Brown and Elijah Robinson; 7th graders Liam Coffey and Jack Adams; and 8th graders Luke Fender and Casey Young.
