7th Grader Takes 1st in Madison County Spelling Bee

7th grader Eesh Majithia won first place in the Madison County Spelling Bee held at Madison Middle School on Monday, February 3, 2020.

In a change in format from last year, this year's bee started instead with the hardest words in the packet provided by Scripps. After only 5 rounds, Eesh beat spellers from Germantown Middle School, Huey L Porter Middle School, Madison Avenue Upper Elementary School, Madison Middle School, Olde Towne Middle School, and Porter Middle School.

Eesh, who has been the winner of the St. Andrew's Middle School Spelling Bee three years in a row, will now represent the county of Madison in the State Spelling Bee next month. Congratulations, Eesh!
