Student Teams Place 1st and 2nd in Southern Entrepreneurship Program's Arrive! Challenge

Tuesday morning, November 17, 2020, Upper School students gathered in the Science Lecture Hall for an online workshop hosted by the Southern Entrepreneurship Program as part of Arrive!, a statewide event offering students an introduction to the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship. Students heard from Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson and Entrepreneur and Podcaster Casey Combest.

Also, as part of Arrive!, student teams from Dan Roach's Macroeconomics class and Caroline Lieb's Mathematics of Finance class participated in an innovation challenge and submitted entry videos last Friday. Today, two teams were announced first and second place winners. The team of Chaun-Michael Bynoe, Mary Reagan Barnett, Michael John Davis, Trey Hebert, and Rece Raju took first place for their proposal for outside pop-up grocery stores that would help prevent food waste. The team of Claire Azordegan, Caroline Croft, Savannah Grace Gober, Audrey Koltz, and Elizabeth Wills took second place for their proposal of specialty vending machines tailored to the inhabitants of their location. Congratulations students on all of your hard work!
