Congratulations to the St. Andrew's students who participated in the MHSAA State Championship Speech and Debate Tournament held April 28-30. Joy Dhar and Patten Lane won in Policy Debate. Preston Daily placed 3rd in Impromptu Speaking, and Pegah Vasighi-Ansarifar placed 3rd in Expository Speaking. Eli Everett and Sehej Gosain finished 4th in Duet Acting, and Raymond Huang finished 5th in Program of Oral Interpretation. Ryder Hebert placed 6th in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Unsh Majithia and Joshua Thorne were named Quarterfinalists in Policy Debate. Tina Garg and Hannah Moore were semifinalists in Declamation; Casey Young was a semifinalist in Dramatic Interpretation; Ryder Hebert was a semifinalist in Impromptu Speaking; Nehemiah Thompson was a semifinalist in Poetry Interpretation; Carol Rappai was a semifinalist in Prose Interpretation; and Charlie Johnson and Casey Young were both semifinalists in Storytelling.
