The St. Andrew's Band program recently held its annual Solo and Ensemble Festival. All students in band grades 7-12 prepared a solo and joined together with 3 or 4 peers for an ensemble piece. Each musical event was presented on the stage in the Center for Performing Arts.
"Of all the events we do annually, this is one of the most important because it trains the student to be independent in their rhythm and pitch," said St. Andrew's Band Director Dennis Cranford. "I am proud of all the hard work the students have done in preparation for this event."
Over 40 events received a superior rating. Winners of the Best Solo Performance (in both Middle School and Upper School) will be announced at the spring Band concert. All students receiving superior ratings will be presented a medal at a school assembly in April. Congratulations to all!
