St. Andrew's was excited to welcome back its first group Peruvian exchange students since 2020 earlier this year. This group of 12 students and 2 faculty members from our partner school Lord Byron spent a total of 18 days with St. Andrew's. Highlights of their visit included:
Traveling to Memphis for a weekend to take part in a service project at the Mid South Food Bank with St. Mary's Episcopal School, visit the the Zoo and Sun Studios, and watch an NBA game
Visiting the 2 Mississippi Museums: the Civil Rights and the Mississippi History Museum
Taking a field trip to the Viking Cooking School and the Grammy Museum
Visiting Spanish classes across in all divisions
Spending two days at the South Campus where they performed at Big Chapel and visited classes
Performing their "Peruvian Night's" show to a packed Travel Thursday
Visiting the trampoline park and having movie night at the Renaissance with St. Andrew's students
We would like to thank everyone who served as a host family. These experiences would not be possible without the support from our amazing St. Andrew's community. Next year, St. Andrew's students will have the opportunity to travel to two of our partner schools, Lord Byron in Peru and Norbert Gymnasium in Germany. The trip interest form and travel grant applications are due on Friday, March 31. Please see this message from Emily Philpott, Director of Global Studies, for details.
