  • 3D Printing Club: 3rd & 4th grades, 3:30 - 4:30pm on Mondays OR 3:00 - 4:00pm on Fridays

    Welcome to our 3D printing class for 3rd and 4th graders! This is an introductory course for the Saints 3D workshop offered by South Campus IT Specialist Charlie Brooks. Your child will use a blend of art, science and creativity to make their designs come to life to create their own 3D designs and print whatever they imagine using TinkerCAD. They'll start with easy designs and progress to more complex ones. Your child will proudly take home all of their 3D printed creations and show their family and friends what they've learned. They'll have something tangible that represents their creativity and hard work!

    Course Description:
    In this class we will learn to care for children and how to promote your babysitting business.
    We will make flyers and certifications. We will learn safety measures for the care and protection of children. We will learn appropriate activities for babysitters and the children in their care. This is a readiness class for future babysitters.
    Instructor Bio:
    My name is Andrea Stallings, and I have been an instructional assistant for 10 years. I am an avid home chef and lover of eating at new restaurants and trying new foods. I have lived in Jackson for 30 years. I have taught art in the summers at St. Andrew's.

    Course Description:
    NEW PROJECTS EACH SEMESTER! We love having students join us for multiple semesters of fun!

    Join Bricks 4 Kidz for a Lego® Engineering experience every Wednesday! Our Lego® models are fully MOTORIZED. ALL new projects EVERY semester! We will begin building vehicles, contraptions, inventions, animals and much more using tech Lego bricks with motors and battery packs. Your child will be introduced to programming his/her creations using Apple IPads and bluetooth technology for a wireless ride by the end of the semester! Come join the educational fun....We Learn, We Build, We Play with LEGO bricks! Our projects, designed by engineers and architects, motivate children by reinforcing S.T.E.M. principles while enhancing self-esteem, improving fine motor skills, and teaching important math skills.

    Course Description:
    In this class we will create food that your child can make by themselves at home. We will create, cook and eat with friends. Your child will learn to use a mixer, blender and a flat top. We explore many different types of foods and we try new things. This class is a great way to expose children to using kitchen tools trying new foods and feel encouraged to be an adventurous eater.

  • Creative Crafting: Pre-K3 - K, 3 - 4pm on Tuesdays

    Course Description:
    We shall really think out of the box creating and crafting. Your child will experience fiber arts, needlepoint, mosaic making, jewelry creating, clay work, and more! Creating crafts using all sorts of materials to really stretch our brains and imagination!
  • Fun with Food: 1st - 4th grades, 3:45 - 4:30pm on Thursdays

    Course Description:
    In Fun with Food, we are teaching kids about the importance of healthy snacks while still making them fun.
    No-bake recipes are a great way to introduce your child to cooking. And if your children already enjoy cooking they are going to love trying these delicious recipes. 
    These no-oven recipes are a great way to get kids started in the kitchen. Not only will it be an educational effort, it will be fun as well.
    One thing we know is that kids love fun foods!
    If you have a picky eater, sometimes the way to their stomach is by cute kid-approved foods. Or, perhaps you are trying to get additional veggies into your child, It may be sneaky but it is totally doable in a cute snack or treat! 
    This is one instance when it’s totally acceptable to have Fun with Food.
    Grab your aprons and let’s get cooking!

    Instructor Bio:
    Liza Ambriz is currently St. Andrew's 5th grade Spanish teacher. She has previously been a substitute teacher for PK3-12th grade for several years. She served as a permanent substitute and was also the substitute coordinator.
    Mrs. Ambriz has experience with students of all ages, and has gotten great feedback from students, parents and teachers alike for her patience and love for kids.
    Mrs. Ambriz makes teaching fun and interesting by coming up with creative activities and games for students to engage in and learn.
    With the activities presented, kids enjoy participating and time flies by!
    Mrs. Ambriz finds it really important that kids learn in a way that is interesting and that helps them retain lessons learned and enjoy time in the classroom.

    Course Description:
    Wednesday, February 7 - It's the season of L-O-V-E! Let's decorate a cute Valentine's Day Gingerbread House!  What a creative and festive way for kids to celebrate the season. We will let our imaginations soar designing our houses with candies, cookies, crackers and other seasonal treats of pink, purple, red and white making this holiday even brighter.
    All supplies included - house, base, icing, decorations and a festive cello wrap for easy take home.

    Instructor Bio:
    Patty Wolf is currently an Instructional Assistant in Kindergarten. She has been employed as a faculty member at St. Andrew's since 2009. Prior to that Ms. Wolf was a fitness coach and instructor at the YMCA as well as on a private basis. She is certified in mindfulness meditation for children and has worked with local community groups and schools sharing her practice for over 10 years. She enjoys crafting, cooking and art. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her 4-yr-old granddaughter

    Course Description:
    Wednesday, March 20 - Easter is the perfect time for decorating a gingerbread house! Think of all the colorful robin eggs, jelly beans, pastel candies, treats and fun flavors! What a charming and sweet addition to the students' springtime projects! Each child will create their own colorful dwelling welcoming the Easter Bunny and the Easter season. All supplies included - house, base, icing, decorations and a festive cello wrap for easy take home.

    Glow Girls Spa Day is designed to focus on inner beauty inspiring self-love and confidence, enhancing girls' mind, body and soul. Break through the stress, boredom and technology fatigue with self-care rituals designed just for girls such as spa activities, yoga, pilates, meditation, art activities, girl chat, smoothie making, and more! Each week we will target one specific topic including friendship building, empathy and compassion, kindness matters, and inclusivity. Beautifying our inner self while pampering our outer self is what makes us glow!

    Course Description:
    Does your child love to make jewelry out of anything they can find? Pins, necklaces, jewelry dishes, bracelets, necklaces, rings, and more! If this sounds like something your child would be interested in learning more about and making, this is the class for them! This class is open to all 2nd-4th grade students. It will be a fun and interactive class to learn how to make jewelry. We will be using a variety of materials and learning about different artists along the way. Students will work individually on projects while helping one another along the way. It will be an inclusive loving space for all students and will work to create beautiful pieces.     Instructor Bio:
    Hi! My name is Sara Clark and I am the Lower School Librarian for both ECC and LS. This is my third year here at St.Andrew's and in Mississippi. I love reading books, crafting, spending time with family, journaling, traveling and more. Usually in the evenings, you can find me either with a good book or crafting. During the pandemic, I started a business making clay jewelry and found a lot of joy in it. I would love to share my joy of jewelry and crafting with your child.

    Course Description:
    Spend time learning to design, cut, and create using the glowforge laser cutter. This includes imagining new creations, guidance in helping bring the idea to life, creating the designs, cutting and engraving with the laser cutter, and assembling projects.

  • Little Princess Day Spa: Pre-K4 - K, 3:15 - 4pm on Mondays

    Little Princess Day Spa is all about letting little girls unleash their inner sparkle! From glitzy manis to rainbow pedis, cucumber gellies to unicorn painting! We will be making friendship bracelets and sparkle jars, glitter tattoos and magic lip balm and don't forget about the strawberry lemonade bubbly! Your little princess will be primped and pampered and have a BLAST! All supplies are provided. Your child will get to bring home lots of diy products that they will be making themselves.

    This class is designed to encourage and emphasize good manners in today's busy society. We have new material for any students who have attended previous camps and classes. Some topics to be discussed will be: respect, responsibility, posture, personal hygiene, giving and receiving compliments, manners for all social occasions, table manners, meeting and greeting, healthy eating choices, handling difficult situations, and much more!

    Welcome to the Pokemon Club for beginners! Let’s explore, learn, and experience the world of Pokemon! This is an all-new adventure into Pokemon. Students will learn how to understand the basics of Pokemon all while having fun and learning how to be the very best! Students will explore names, gyms, characters, videos, trivia, Pokemon types, and more all while having fun learning the basics of Pokemon to start their journey!

    Course Description:
    Hey Trainers, think you have what it takes to be the best? Join Pokemon Club Advanced and take your Pokemon skills & knowledge to the next level. Pokemon Club is offered for advanced players (1+ year of knowledge and experience) to take a deeper dive into the massive world of Pokemon. Join us as we learn about more advanced types of Pokemon, and explore all the regions of the Pokemon world through games, movies, battles, and obviously cards! Your child will be introduced to this fantastic world of Pokemon to take their Pokemon knowledge to the next level through battle mechanics, battle simulation, pokemon types, high-level strategy moves, weaknesses, and strengths. Trainers will work with hands-on materials, online research, and produce different Pokemon-related crafts throughout the course of this class. Sign up today and help us Catch ‘em All!

    Self-Care Workshops are safe spaces for children of all ages to learn fun, healthy and creative ways to take care of their mental, emotional & physical wellbeing. The workshops will include a variety of activities and exercises teaching the students how to meditate & journal, DIY spa projects like making face masks you can eat - with honey & avocados, learning how plants feel our emotions, why gardening can be fun and therapeutic, yoga and more!

    Self-Care workshops primarily focus on helping students create healthy habits that can enhance their moods, relieve anxiety and depression, build their skill sets for the future, promote healthy communication, help create healthy self concepts, and provide the importance of making their self-care a priority. Starting these habits at a younger age reduces the chance of developing mental illness disorders, depression, and feelings of emotional confinement.

    Course Description:
    Join the SEW FUN studios team at St. Andrew's Fall 2023! Learn sewing basics while your child creates a variety of projects to take home throughout the semester. Your child will choose from our line of trendy fabrics to make creations that are just their style! Perfect for your little fashionista or DIY child. Sewing enforces Science Technology Engineering Art and Math principles. Your child will be learning while having SEW much fun! Tuition includes ALL fabric, notions, supplies and the use of sewing machines! Limited  students per semester. Projects are different EVERY semester. Children can take classes every semester and learn new skills while making new and different projects!
