Touchstone Endowment

Solidifying a Foundation + Investing in the Future

The Touchstone Endowment is a solid financial foundation that provides for the ongoing and future needs of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.
The principal is invested and held in perpetuity, with the income used to fulfill the donor’s wishes. While some endowment funds are restricted for a particular use such as scholarships, continuing education for faculty, the arts, the science program, etc., funds generated from the Unrestricted Endowment assist the overall budget. These funds provide support for all aspects of the school’s program such as faculty salaries and benefits, athletics, the arts, financial aid, and academic programs.

Gifts to the endowment of any size are greatly appreciated.  With a minimum gift of $50,000, you may establish a permanent endowment named in honor of yourself, your family, or a loved one.

We recently established the Luminary League whose members are leading the way with transformational level new gifts and future bequests to the endowment.

As of July 1, 2017, St. Andrew’s endowment stood at more than 10 million dollars in gifts and pledges.  The Board of Trustees is committed to continued growth of the endowment.

  • Bequests

You may name St. Andrew's Episcopal School as a beneficiary in your will in a number of ways. You may specify an outright gift of cash, securities, real estate, or personal property. You may also consider a gift in your will of a certain percentage of your estate rather than a fixed sum or asset.
  • Gifts of Life Insurance

To receive a charitable deduction, name St. Andrew’s Episcopal School as both the owner and beneficiary of the policy. If the policy is paid in full and has a cash value, you may take a charitable deduction approximately equal to the cash value at the time of the gift. If annual premiums are still to be made and you continue to pay them, those premiums will become tax deductible each year.
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts

Charitable Remainder Trusts pay a specified annual amount to the donor or other beneficiary for life, or a specified term. At the end of the term, the remaining funds are distributed to St. Andrew’s.
  • Charitable Lead Trusts

Charitable Lead Trusts are similar, but the annual payments go to St. Andrew’s (rather than the donor), and the remaining funds are distributed to the donor or their beneficiaries at the end of the term.
