In both the visual and performing arts, we’re able to provide access to a range of high-level artistic disciplines. Then, once a student has discovered a passion, we’re able to provide instruction, facilities, and resources that spark development and growth with no limit to the student’s imagination. Our students consistently receive recognition and high honors at state and national visual arts, choral, band, and speech and debate competitions.
Visual and Graphic Arts
For our youngest students, art is integrated with academics, using creativity to spark a love for math and science. In addition to classes in traditional painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics, the Fine Arts Department offers courses in photography, digital media, and graphic design.
Performing Arts
Throughout the school year the students present a variety of choral and band concerts, plays, and musicals. In addition to performing, students have the opportunity to contribute through theatre technology and design with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and stage equipment and systems.
Facilities
Faulkner Studios for Art and Music
Middle and Upper School students create in airy, well-equipped studios flooded with natural light for painting, drawing, sculpting, and ceramics. Open studio space allows serious art students and faculty members to work on long-term projects in various media. Exhibition areas showcase completed work, while large windows allow other students and visitors on campus to watch as new art is created. The Faulkner studios also include space dedicated to and specifically equipped for instrumental and vocal music classes.
Center for Performing Arts (CPA)
The Center for Performing Arts (CPA) on the North Campus is an outstanding facility for musicals, plays, concerts, and assemblies.
