  • Art for Middle School, 5th-8th, 3:10-4:15 on Tuesdays — NORTH CAMPUS

    FALL 2026: Art for Middle School

    This course aims to enhance students' skills and self-expression in 2D design. Emphasizing the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, students will deepen their understanding of color theory, drawing techniques, and mixed-media applications.
     
    Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to refine their individual skills and foster personal creativity by creating artworks in various mediums. They will learn to utilize new methods and tools, with observational drawing, painting, and mixed media serving as the foundation for their projects. 

    Instructor Bio:
    As the art instructor for middle school students at St. Andrew's, I have enjoyed sharing my passion for art for the past six years. After a decade serving as the Middle School Counselor at SA, I have recently made my way back to the art classroom. Prior to my time at St. Andrew's, I taught art within the Gifted Education program at Starkville Public Schools. During that period, I earned my National Board Certification in Middle School Art. I possess a Bachelor's degree in education with a minor in art, along with a Master's degree in counseling from Mississippi State University.

    Join us in the enchanting Autumn Art Garden Club, where we will delve into the world of crafts using genuine crafting supplies and the beauty of natural materials to create stunning works of art. Each week, we’ll embark on exciting adventures to transform the wonders of nature into captivating creations—whether it’s crafting vibrant collages from leaves and flowers, designing our own garden journals, or sculpting imaginative pieces. This delightful fusion of outdoor exploration and artistic expression promises to ignite your creativity! All materials will be provided; just bring your curiosity and a love for the great outdoors!

    Instructor's Bio:
    Hi! My name is Sara Clark, and I am the Lower School Librarian for both ECC and LS. I am also the Head Archery Coach at the Middle and High School. This will be my 6th year at St.Andrew's and in Mississippi. I love reading books, crafting, spending time with family, journaling, traveling, and trying new foods! In this class, I want to share my love for art and nature with your child!
  • Creative Bead Workshop, PK4-1st, 3:15-3:45 on Wednesdays

    Let your child's imagination sparkle in this fun and engaging jewelry making class! Inspired by favorite stories and full of colorful beads, this workshop is the perfect creative outlet for young crafters. Children will explore a rainbow of sparkly, chunky, and shiny beads. They'll learn simple knotting and bead stringing techniques that feel more like play than class, allowing them to create unique bracelets, necklace and so much more! In this class it will help with motor skills, attention and self expression. Lets make some cool fun jewelry together!

    Hi! Im Mary Mack! Im a Prek-3 Instructional Asst. here at St. Andrews! I have a passion for working with children and enjoying creating fun, hands-on learning experiences that allow students to explore their creativity and build new skills. i believe every child learns differently and i strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where all students feel confident to try new things, ask questions, and have fun while learning!

  • Fired Up! Ceramic Clay Creations, 5th-8th, 3:15-4:15 on Thursdays--NORTH CAMPUS

    FALL 2026: Fired Up! Ceramic Clay Creations

    Location: Ceramic Studio--NORTH CAMPUS

    Get your hands dirty and unleash your creativity in After-School Ceramics! Designed for students in grades 5–8, this enrichment class introduces a variety of hand-building and pottery techniques while encouraging artistic expression and problem-solving. Students will learn how to create functional and decorative ceramic pieces using methods such as pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, sculpting, and surface design.
     
    Throughout the session, participants will transform clay into unique works of art while exploring texture, form, glazing, and kiln-firing processes. Whether you're new to ceramics or already love working with clay, this class offers a fun, supportive environment to develop skills, experiment with new ideas, and create one-of-a-kind masterpieces to take home. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your imagination and be ready to create!

    Instructor's Bio:
    Jessie Humble has over 20 years of experience in the visual arts, with a background in design, creative problem-solving, and arts education. She currently teaches Upper School Art at St. Andrew's Episcopal School, where she inspires students through courses in Graphic Design, Studio Art, AP Studio Art, and Yearbook. Passionate about helping young artists develop both technical skills and creative confidence, Mrs. Humble encourages students to explore new ideas, take artistic risks, and discover their unique voices. Her experience in both professional design and classroom instruction allows her to connect real-world applications with meaningful artistic experiences, fostering a love of creativity that extends beyond the studio.
  • The Fantastic World of Theatre, 1st-4th, 3:00-4:00 on Wednesdays

    FALL 2026: The Fantastic World of Theatre

    Tuition: $250 for ASC students; $300 for non-ASC students
    Location: Lower School

    In this class, we will explore all things Theatre! From Costuming and Prop Building to Acting and Playwriting, we will create skits and characters that matter to each of us! I will encourage students to really dig into their imagination and bring it to life together. Each week will be something new that will help give kids a well-rounded, creative mind!

    Instructor's Bio:
    I have a degree in Theatre Education from Emerson College and have been involved in local theatre since I was young. I student-taught in Boston, MA, this past year and am excited to be back home teaching at St. Andrew's. Whether it's directing, writing, or acting, theatre has always been a passion of mine, and sharing it with kids is my favorite way to be involved in the arts. 
  • Artful Adventures: PK4-2nd, 3:15-4:00 on Tuesdays

    Let's make a masterpiece! In Artful Adventures we will learn about some of the greats like da Vinci, Picasso, Warhol and others. We will explore their techniques and create art inspired by their works. Sign up to help your child find their inner creativity!

    Lisa Howell and Emerson Boone began their relationship as teacher and student and, over more than a decade, have grown into a dedicated and dynamic teaching team. With many years of experience, Lisa Howell has devoted many years of her career to teaching ballet at St. Andrew’s, nurturing confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of dance in countless students. Emerson Boone, a St. Andrew’s graduate, trained under Lisa for 12 years before becoming her teaching assistant, bringing passion and dedication to the program. Together, they foster a supportive, creativity-driven environment where dancers are encouraged to grow, learn, and express themselves.

    Instructor's Bio:
    Lisa Howell received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Birmingham-Southern College where she studied ballet and character dance under Mira Popovich.
     
    She moved to Jackson MS to teach for Jackson Ballet School which became Ballet Mississippi. While at Ballet Mississippi she studied with Charles Dickson, Alan Woodard, and Gillian Davis. 
     
    She was Principal of Ballet Mississippi School and Assistant Chairman of the Dance Department of APAC ( the Academic and Performing Arts Complex of the Jackson Public Schools).
     
    Lisa is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance, receiving Highly Commended on her Advanced Executant Exam and Distinction on her Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Exams.
     
    Most recently, she successfully completed training on the Royal Ballet School’s INSPIRE: Series 1, Seminars 1 - 6 taught by Sarah Daultry. She continues to supplement her professional development by participating in the Royal Ballet School’s Enlighten webinars. 
  • Ballet: 3rd-4th, 4:15-5:15 on Thursdays

    FALL 2026: Ballet - 3rd & 4th grades

    ASC students: $400 for one day, $500 for two days, $600 for three days per week.

    The Ballet Program at St. Andrew’s was established by Lisa Howell over 30 years ago. Classes emphasize movement and musicality in a student-centered, creative and collaborative environment. Each semester, students will present a performance for family and friends.

    In addition to this Thursday class, 3rd and 4th graders are now encouraged to join one of the older classes for advanced learning with upper grades. Those options are Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 4:15 - 5:30pm. They may also join the mixed-grade Friday class from 3:15 - 4:15 pm.
