Madison Cox Attends Mississippi State Humanities Camp

St. Andrew's senior Madison Cox was nominated and selected as one of the 24 scholars from across the state to participate in the 2023 Mississippi State Humanities Camp. The camp provides an in-depth experience aimed at providing scholars an understanding of human motivation through exposure to humanities-related courses. Scholars are granted the opportunity to participate in expert lecture and class discussion along with hands-on activities and field trips. Students engage in critical thinking about the state of Mississippi, communities, and the welfare of the citizens. Students also participate in group projects to identify a need and develop a plan to assist in meeting the need. Madison’s four-man group was able to research and develop a resolution plan for an identified Mississippi “pain point” that gave them a second place win at the final presentation. Students are nominated from schools across the state and recommended by faculty.
